Music:Nellie McKay
When you first hear Nellie McKay play her intro on the piano, you think of the squeaky clean music of the 50’s until she starts to sing and you hear her lyrics, and then you realize her words are scathing.
Nellie McKay has a way of giving you a simple catchy tune and blowing your mind with the words that come out of her mouth. Everything from gay marriage to alcholism to President Bush, she slices through it all with her razor sharp wit. My recomendation is to start with “Sari”, “David” “Respectable” by then you should be hooked.
